I thank God:
- for rainy days
- for providing blessings I didn't know I needed
- for giving me advice I didn't know I wanted
- for my healthy intestines; they keep me clean
- for not abandoning me
I didn't sub today. I had ample opportunity, but I chose not to take it. I chose to do some house cleaning, get my latest poem into my computer, work on my book and read one more chapter in the book for my book club. I chose not to worry about tomorrow or worry about needing to sub. The guilt and worry started to creep in, but I closed the door on that. I chose not to worry about money. I chose to lay in my bed and keep my eyes shut. When the phone rang three separate times to request that I sub today, I picked up and put in the code for "no" and laid back down in bed and closed my eyes. When I finally did get up, the phone rang again. The call was a personal call from a specific school, made by the secretary. She asked if I was free tomorrow and I said "yes." Guess what, I will be subbing for a class going to the Brookfield Zoo! I love the zoo. The entire sixth grade is going to the ZOO! I have always wanted to go to Brookfield Zoo, but never went. This zoo has won awards for its early efforts in making the habitats of the animals resemble what would be a normal environment. Tomorrow is going to be stupendous! :-) God is on the case!
I like Thursday. My liking Thursday is a hold over from my days working as a teacher. Thursday was a wonderful day because the next day was Friday which met the weekend was close at hand. Now I like Thursdays because it brings back warm memories of the wonderful moments with my students as we talked about how great we were going to feel when we left school Friday. :-) I hope that you are going to take a moment to think about all the wonderful things you can do with your weekend and less about all the things you have to do. The one thing that I have learned in my 64+ years is that if I don't take care of me, no one else will. We teach others how to treat us from how we treat ourselves.
"Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it." ~ Bill Cosby ~
Namaste....
