While reading Girlfriends in God, I read this message and thought it was worth sharing:  "God is drawn to broken people. God always works best through broken people. He entrusts His deepest truths to the most wounded and desperate people as those truths fall through the broken places, finding a place to rest and grow."

The quote was in reference to David who God said "is a man after my own heart." (Acts 13:22). God said this of David when he became king of Israel and before Bathsheba.  As many of you may know, David messed up royally in the sight of God, and God punished him until he repented before the people of Israel and turned away from his sin. David did not forget his sins, but he did not let them keep him from doing the right thing from the point at which he repented, and God never abandoned him even when he was messing up.

None of us have lived perfect lives.  All of us have made a huge mess of our lives along the way; it is human, and God knows that.  The key for us is not to let past negative acts affect our future.  Ask for forgiveness from people that you wronged.  If they forgive you...good.  If they don't, God knows that you did. If some you wronged have "transitioned," ask God to transmit your message.  Until you get straight with God, you will never be able to live in peace.  Talk to God, repent and go on with your life.  If someone in your life wants to make you feel bad about your past and try to force you to live your present and future as though your past is your present, continually show them the face of God in all your actions, big and small.  Don't get angry with them and don't do anything negative to them, show them the face of God in you.  Eventually they will stop and you will be confirmed in every moment who is really guiding your life....God.

God given words that have guided my life -

"When you have come to the end of all the light you know and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen. You will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly."
Edward Teller
